Pool & Spa Maintenance

Regular Maintenance Plans

A booked visit on the same cycle every week, fortnight or month, so the pool never gets the chance to drift. We work the cycle out with you around the pool, how hard it gets used and the time of year, then keep to it.

Full Vacuum Valet

The full clean. We vacuum the floor and walls, brush the surfaces down, scoop and skim whatever is floating, empty every basket including the pump baskets, and backwash and rinse the filter.

Scoop and Brush Floor/Walls

The quicker visit between full cleans. We scoop and skim the surface, brush the floor and walls, empty the baskets, clear the skimmer, and check the water with a test kit.

Green or Cloudy Pool Fix

Green or cloudy water is almost always a chlorine and filtration problem, not a reason to drain the pool. We test it, work out what is actually wrong, dose it properly and get the filter doing its job.

Water Test & Balance

A proper test of the water and the adjustment that goes with it. Chlorine, pH, alkalinity, stabiliser and hardness, so the water is safe to swim in and is not quietly wearing out the surfaces and the equipment.

Seasonal Service (Summer or Winter)

Opening the pool for summer, or closing it down for winter. On the way in that is the cover off, a full clean, the water balanced and the equipment tested before anyone gets in. On the way out it is the reverse: cleaned, the chemistry set to hold through the cold months, and the gear checked so it comes through winter.

Equipment & Upgrades

Pump Replacement or Upgrade

Supply and installation of a new pool pump. Modern pumps run at a fraction of the power of older units, which is usually where the cost of the upgrade comes back.

Filter Replacement or Upgrade

Supply and installation of a new filter, or an upgrade where the existing one was never right for the pool. A filter that cannot keep up shows in water that will not stay clear.

Chlorinator Replacement or Upgrade

Supply and installation of a new chlorinator. Cells wear out, and a chlorinator that cannot hold a level quietly costs you in chemicals and in water that keeps slipping.

Heater or Heat Pump

Supply and installation of pool heating, or replacement of a unit that is past it. We test what is there before recommending anything.

Automation & Controls

Supply and installation of pool automation and controls, so the pump, heating and chlorination run to a schedule rather than by hand.

Pool Lighting

Supply and installation of pool lighting, or replacement of units that have failed.

Regular Spa Servicing

A booked visit on a set cycle to test and balance the spa water, clean the filters and check the heater, pump and chlorinator are running as they should.

Spa Water Test & Balance

We test the spa water properly and correct it, rather than adding more of something and hoping. Hot water moves chemistry fast and a spa needs different numbers to a pool.

Spa Clean & Filter Service

Cleaning the spa and servicing its filters, which is usually what is behind water that will not stay clear no matter what goes into it.

Spa Heater or Equipment Issue

We test the spa heater, pump, chlorinator and the pipework around them on site, find the actual fault and tell you whether repairing or replacing is the better answer. Parts are quoted before any work.

Spa With The Pool

If we already look after your pool, the spa can be done on the same visit rather than booked separately.

Pool Renovations, Resurfacing & Liners

Do I Actually Need a Renovation?

Before anyone quotes you to resurface a pool, it is worth knowing whether the surface is genuinely at the end of its life. Staining, roughness and discolouration are often chemistry or equipment rather than the surface itself. We look at it and tell you where you stand.

Condition Report Before You Renovate

A written assessment of the pool surface, the structure and the equipment, so you go into a renovation quote knowing what is actually wrong rather than taking someone else word for it.

Putting You Onto the Right People

We do not resurface or reline pools ourselves. Tell us what you are planning and we will point you to the people we would use, and tell you what to ask them.

After the Work: Water & Equipment

A renovated pool has to be filled, balanced and brought back into service properly, and the equipment has to be running right. Done badly, a new surface can stain in its first season.
