When something on the pool stops working
Pumps, filters, chlorinators and heaters all fail in their own way, and most of them give you a sign before they stop. This is the page for when one of them has.
A pool tells you it has a problem long before it stops running. The pump gets louder, the water takes longer to clear, the chlorinator stops holding a level, or the power trips when the filter kicks in. None of those fix themselves, and most of them get more expensive the longer they run.
We test on site rather than guess. That means finding the actual cause, telling you what it is in plain terms, and telling you whether it is worth repairing or worth replacing. Parts and replacements are quoted before anything is done, so you decide with the number in front of you.
If you do not know what is wrong, that is a normal way to book. Pick the option that says something is not right, tell us what you have noticed, and we will come and find it.

Questions we get asked
Do I need to know what is wrong before I book?
No. One of the options on this page is for exactly that. Tell us what you have noticed, a noise, a leak, water that will not clear, and we will come and test it.
Will you fix it on the first visit?
Often, yes, if it is something we can test and put right there. Where a part has to be ordered we tell you what it needs and quote it before anything is done.
Do you repair equipment or only replace it?
We repair where repairing is the sensible answer and say so when it is not. Old equipment that keeps failing usually costs more in call-outs than it does to replace, and we will tell you when you are at that point.
Can you install new equipment as well?
Yes. Pumps, filters and heaters can be upgraded as part of the same visit, and newer equipment usually runs cheaper than what it replaces.
What if the problem turns out to be something else?
We tell you. The point of testing on site is to find the real cause rather than replace the obvious part and leave you with the same problem.
