More about spa pool servicing
Looking after a spa
A spa is a small body of hot water, which is exactly why it goes wrong faster than a pool does. Same work, same team, different scale.
Spa water is heated, heavily used and holds a fraction of the volume a pool does, so the chemistry moves fast. A spa that sits at the wrong level for a fortnight does not look like a pool that has drifted, it goes cloudy, it smells, and the equipment wears while it does.
We service spas the same way we service pools. The water gets tested and balanced properly rather than topped up on a guess, the filters get cleaned, and the heater, pump and chlorinator get looked over while we are there. If something has already gone wrong, we test it on site and tell you whether it is worth repairing.
Spas can go on the same cycle as a pool, or be looked after on their own. Plenty of our regulars have both and we do them on the same visit.
Each service on this page
Regular Spa Servicing
A booked visit on a set cycle to test and balance the spa water, clean the filters and check the heater, pump and chlorinator are running as they should.
- A set cycle that suits how much the spa is used
- Water tested and balanced
- Filters cleaned
- Equipment checked while we are there
Spa Water Test & Balance
We test the spa water properly and correct it, rather than adding more of something and hoping. Hot water moves chemistry fast and a spa needs different numbers to a pool.
- Full water test on site
- Balanced to spa levels, not pool levels
- What went in, told plainly
Spa Clean & Filter Service
Cleaning the spa and servicing its filters, which is usually what is behind water that will not stay clear no matter what goes into it.
- Spa cleaned out
- Filters cleaned or replaced
- Water rebalanced afterwards
Spa Heater or Equipment Issue
We test the spa heater, pump, chlorinator and the pipework around them on site, find the actual fault and tell you whether repairing or replacing is the better answer. Parts are quoted before any work.
- Fault tested on site
- Heater, pump and chlorinator checked
- Repair or replace, quoted first
Spa With The Pool
If we already look after your pool, the spa can be done on the same visit rather than booked separately.
- Done on the same visit as the pool
- One cycle for both
- Both sets of water balanced properly
I'm Not Sure - Just Come Take a Look
Tell us what the spa is doing and we will come and look at it, work out what is going on and tell you what it needs.
- A look over the spa and its equipment
- What we found explained plainly
- A recommendation on what to do next
What customers say about this work
GTM pools have been taking care of our pool and spa for a couple of years. They provide a complete service and in my view go over and beyond. Not just a…
Questions we get asked
Do you service spas on their own, or only with a pool?
Either. A spa can go on its own cycle, or be added to the pool visit if we already look after your pool.
My spa water goes cloudy within days. Why?
A spa holds a fraction of the water a pool does and it is heated and heavily used, so the chemistry moves much faster. It is usually the filters, the balance, or both, and it is worth testing rather than adding more chemical.
Can you fix a spa heater?
We test it on site and find the fault. Where it is a repair we do it, where a part has to be ordered we quote it first, and where the unit is past it we tell you that instead of charging you to find out twice.
Is spa water treated the same as pool water?
No. Hot water at a small volume needs different levels and it moves faster, which is why a spa dosed like a pool never quite comes right.
